Jamie Solano at Ford O’Brien Landy said there is no need for a hearing to determine whether and to what extent there is a conflict of interest in their representation of Manuel Chang.
“Obviously the Government did not just come to learn of a ‘potential conflict.’ Rather, it appears that the Government recently came to learn of how vigorous of a defense we intend to provide Mr. Chang,” Solano wrote.
She added that removing Ford O’Brien Landy LLP from the case would mean losing months of work on the case, including discovery, witness interviews, and endeavors to prepare for a trial as early as spring 2024.
