Adam guides individuals and businesses in high-stakes civil and criminal investigations, litigation, and regulatory enforcement matters, representing clients in domestic and cross-border disputes involving federal, state, and foreign governmental agencies and regulatory bodies. 

Adam has represented clients in proceedings involving a wide array of federal, state, and foreign authorities, such as the Justice Department (DOJ), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the California Air Resources Board (CARB), the U.S. Senate, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS), the German Automotive Regulatory Authority (KBA), the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), and the European Commission.

Adam has broad investigation and litigation experience, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption, Securities Fraud, Insider Trading, Sanctions Enforcement, as well as specific expertise and focus on the design and implementation of anti-corruption compliance programs tailored specifically to an organization’s risk, industry, geographic, and operational profile.

Select Engagements

  • Managed high-profile criminal defense of a C-Suite individual accused of FCPA violations in close coordination with multiple AM law 100 firms as joint- and co-counsel, conducting domestic and foreign investigation efforts regarding forensic accounting.
  • Represented major state-owned Turkish financial institution in an internal investigation and criminal litigation in the Southern District of New York and Second Circuit linked to sanctions and money laundering allegations.
  • Represented German global automobile manufacturers in litigation and federal and state investigations (DOJ, EPA, California Air Resources Board) into emissions standards and related data privacy concerns, including extensive fact gathering in German from both individuals and data sources.
  • Represented major Swiss bank in enforcement actions brought by the DOJ, SEC, Federal Reserve, and NYDFS, as well as a related congressional inquiry by the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Represented same company regarding NYDFS-appointed corporate monitor.
  • Represented a Fortune 50 logistics company in multi-jurisdictional False Claims Act qui tam litigation with the DOJ and multiple state attorneys general.
  • Represented major international media / technology company in a successful tender bid pursuant to the “Make in India” economic development and infrastructure initiative. Counseled same company in the redesign and drafting of its internal compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption policies, procedures, and employee training materials.
  • Conducted an internal investigation for a public data analytics company audit committee concerning whistle-blower allegations involving revenue recognition, disclosure, internal controls and retaliation.
  • Conducted FCPA due diligence for an international telecommunications company in advance of several large acquisitions; internal compliance reviews and anticorruption analyses.
  • During law school, Adam interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia and gained trial experience regarding fraud and public corruption, pursuant to Georgia’s Law School Public Prosecutor Act.
